Dr. Kashif Khokhar, our esteemed CME Coordinator, is a distinguished cardiologist and electrophysiologist, specializing in heart rhythm, hypertension, and cardiac device management. With his longstanding association with PMASA, we recognize his pivotal role in ensuring the success of our events.
The PMASA mock exams have garnered significant popularity among AMC and FRACGP exam candidates in the past. Dr. Mariam Khan, having recently completed her fellowship in General Practice, recognizes the importance of such activities and has graciously agreed to take on the role of coordinating the event.
Dr. Amna Rauf brings a wealth of experience as a respected member within our medical and allied fraternity. Recognizing the need for revitalization in our event offerings, her appointment promises to inject fresh energy into our signature gala. With her vision and dedication, we anticipate an invigorated atmosphere that will resonate with attendees.
Dr. Afzal Mahmood, a specialist in public health, brings a wealth of expertise in health services development and community engagement, with a specific focus on enhancing the quality of care. Widely recognized in our community for his unwavering support, Dr. Mahmood played a pivotal role as the focal person in securing funds for PMASA. These funds facilitated the delivery of crucial COVID information sessions during the pandemic. Currently, he is poised to engage with other associations to assess needs and strategize accordingly.
Dr. Nazim Abbas, a distinguished oncologist with experience in both private and public healthcare sectors, played a pivotal role in achieving the goals of our collaboration with Shaukat Khan Memorial Hospital and continues his efforts to initiate new collaboration in all aspects with other institutions of Pakistan.
Sports are an integral aspect of society, serving as a testament to the health of a nation and Dr. Noman Tahir has graciously volunteered to coordinate the Badminton activities and oversee the revival of cricket with the help of Dr Imran Gul [MB BS GRACGP]. Moreover, he will explore the feasibility of introducing other sports, such as Table Tennis, to further enrich our sporting endeavours.
Irfan Hashmi is widely acknowledged for knowing social media which health professionals usually lack and he has kindly agreed to take up this task and also to train our next generation of potential leaders. He will be assisted by Rushan Khurram [Medical Student]
We anticipate presenting the updated constitution for consideration at our AGM in September 2024. Dr. Abdul Qayyum Aslam is the ex-president of PMASA and a known and active member of our community and he has graciously accepted the role of Chairperson for this endeavour and will be responsible for submitting recommendations in due course.
